Marking:- Landjagerei Schleswig.

Landjagerei = Rural Police.

Joe,

Regarding value, it'll come down to the condition of the pommel & especially the blade. Looks like it has a little rust & darkening, how's the rest of it?

it's not mint, but seems pretty ok .
I don't have a lot of pics of the bayo, it was offered to me together with a damast LW dagger,which got more of my attention.
(but the damast dagger has most likely a post war etched blade .

here is a pic together with the dagger

The name on the frog is the name of the leather works in Celle, of which an interesting mention is made on their home site:" During Kristallnacht, the anti-Jewish pogrom in Nazi Germany on 9/10 November 1938, the synagogue in Celle was only saved from complete destruction because there would have been a risk to the adjacent leather factory and other parts of the historic Altstadt."

There were thousands of makers of frogs etc. in Germany at the time, so rare is a relative term.
