Hello fellow , a friend of mine sent me these pictures to see if this dagger is 100 % original, looks authentic but I'm not 100% sure , should not carry a small screw at the entrance of its sheath ? Do you see red flags here? I appreciate all your comments and help, receive a cordial greeting .

Thanks partners.

Sure, I will help. The dagger you posted is a fake. a complete fake. There is nothing original on it. Maybe the blade but not sure on that. Don't ask for the details as the fakers are improving these all the time.

Anyway, that is just my opinion. Wait for others to reply, as they maybe think different.

What is dealers price for this ?

Your welcome Vassago.
All these parts are post war manufactured.
There are Diplo dagger features that are only found on Eickhorn Diplo/GO's, and not found on other makers.

This dagger is not not even a 'Parts Dagger', which would mean assembled from original parts, after the war. They are newly manufactured. They try to resemble a Eickhorn product like the cross guard, but it's not. And it's not by any other original pre 1945 maker.
The scabbard is not a Eickhorn
The Ferrule is not Eickhorn.
The hilt is also off for a Eickhorn.
The grip plates look new and they couldn't age them like they did the metal parts.
The Hanger also looks new.

Best of the Quest,
Serge

I can only emphasize what Serge has already stated. A compete fake. Imho the blade is also a fake.
But once again you can detect that the fakers try to improve their fakes. Still not close enough.

@Vassago, gov and diplo daggers of the period did have mother-of-pearl imitation grips (were produced in a very special way) NOT original mother-of-pearl grips.
