True to my people and myself.

Lots of symbolism on that piece. Knight, sword, snake, thorn bush, pedestal, etc. The knight appears to be presenting food or water to the snake.
Symbolism is usually lost on me.

Thought, since it is a book plate is one name and date the artist and the other the bibliophile? Or, is the book about Clausen or does the plate mean it was his property?

Hans Volkert 3rd reich era art.
The side art within eagle silhouette, imperial crown with jew another nationality being expelled by national socialist, and shaky hand text is somewhat a mystery.
Apparently Volkert died in 1945 but cause of death or if due to war is unknown to me.

Ernst Pöhner (11 January 1870 – 11 April 1925) was Munich's Chief of Police ('Green' Police President) from 1919 to 1922. He was a vigorous anti-communist and anti-Semite who was in office when Bavarian Minister President Gustav Ritter von Kahr had Ostjuden, or "Eastern Jews", expelled from Bavaria. As part of an anti-Semitic campaign throughout Germany in 1920, Kahr ordered the mass expulsion from Bavaria of the so-called Eastern Jews, many of whom had lived there for generations.[1]

Pöhner was also instrumental in mounting terror and in supporting Organisation Consul death squads, which carried out politically motivated murders with the intent of destabilizing the country and installing a right-wing dictatorship. Confronted with the charge that entire groups of right-wing political assassins were at large and working in and around Munich, he reportedly said: "Yes ... but too few of them."[2]

Pöhner was closely linked to Gustav von Kahr, who had his own plans for overthrowing the government of the Weimar Republic but who opposed the 1923 Hitler Beer Hall Putsch. Pöhner was a central figure in the putsch and was to be named Bavaria's minister president if the coup succeeded. He was subsequently convicted with Hitler in 1924 of high treason and sentenced to five years in prison. While in prison, Pöhner switched to the German National People's Party. He was released from prison on 31 March 1925.[3][4]

Pöhner died in a car accident the following month. He is mentioned in Hitler's Mein Kampf. During the Nazi era, a street was named after Pöhner. The name was changed back in 1946.

The seventh picture from the botton. Can you see what is tucked into H's belt under the Iron cross? He normally wears a black wound badge. Thank you.

Nice photo card.
From the angle the buttonhole ribbon appears to be for a Winterschlacht im Osten, (Eastern front medal).
The wound badge appears to be either a well worn black version or a higher grade, silver or gold.
Someone who studies Infantry Assault badges could possibly discern the maker.
Can anything be made out on the finger ring?

I noticed the card for the forestry?? aspect and you being a medal guy notice the awards.
These forestry troops saw combat action? My thinking was they were something like the DNR.
The ring is a mystery and also his rank.

If the collar tab leaves are silver, his rank is Forestmeister. These positions were frequently given to convalescing or disabled veterans.

If a Forestmeister, maybe this might be his new position and would jive with the wound badge that Joe pointed out.

With no shoulder boards and no oakleaf in the center of the collar tabs would that be anwaerter fuer den hoeheren forstdienst, (applicant for forestry administration, 1942-1945)?

Here's a incomplete translation attempt via Google ...any corrections in context or punctuation welcome.
Also, not sure what the titles are after name or if mentioned individual has any significance.
