Any ideas on what exactly this was for? Maybe a new year greeting?? I thought it had an occult look.
I can't read the fancy lettering and all I can make out is the months of the year and 1939.
Also has Alfred Crossmann's signature impressed in with no ink bottom right corner.
Thanks

really good to see, some nice shots there.

. That 'poem'? maybe a original piece. Also looks like someone interested in botanicals[?]

Don't think I've ever seen a GesGesh on a paper piece!

The poem with the eyeball- "who wants to understand everything? When the snow melts, you will find it". (I think..) then it says "time will tell".. the last bit is sütterlin, can't make it out... "have a weird 1939!" (Just kidding about the last bit.. but it's very very cool..)

Yeah Mike whatever the meaning of the hypnotic eye,1939 was going to be a year to remember.
Thank you for the comment and translation. My first thoughts were along the lines of astrology or strange new year greeting.
I think you summed it up well with the word weird.

This one posted from Berchtesgaden.

No swaz with this one but still a worthy symbol of strength and beauty on it's own.

Had to weight down by the 2 corners due to curling.
Hitler, possibly Rohm? No idea the year.

If that is Ernst Rohm behind Adolf, it is a pre 7/34 card.

Thanks for the input.
Maybe the uniforms give a clue and I didn't see any daggers.
I was told 1929 but wasn't Rohm in Bolivia from 1928 til 1930?

A small blurry picture here that has ss fuhrer written on the reverse.
I felt the officer on the right resembled Heydrich based on posture and what could be seen.
Just a guess and can't be confirmed because of the blur.

I think that is Bruckner behind Hitler, along with Krause in the Kyffhauser photo.
The two SS Officers...the one on the left looks like Von Eberstein, Police President and the other could indeed be Heydrich.

Great hearing the the id's Tristan. It's been very helpful in the learning process. So thanks for the help.
Just learned Krause wrote his memoirs regarding his time with Hitler.
I thought a possible ID for the glasses wearing man in the Kyffhauser card...Seyss-Inquart?

This last card quotes the closing stanza of Goethe's poem ' Human Limitations.' This is the idea of us all being linked to the past, and to future, generations in a circle of life. This breads loyalty to the kin, instilled in all SS.

In the car cavalcade are our old friends Krause and Bruckner, and in the second car Hess with possibly Lutze behind him.
