Hi Everyone,

Last dagger.

It pro-ports to be an SS but I have my doubts.

It has nice nickel mounts with PA inside and nice scabbard although some of the screws seem to be replacements.
Bottom cross guard is marked He on the reverse and has a Br. 10 . 971 on the front.

Blade - nothing on the tang at all and the normal moto but I have noticed the distance between the cross guard and the end on the moto is around 40mm.

Grip - Seems to have been painted black as you can see a normal SA colour underneath. Eagle looks OK but not sure about the rune?

So in conclusion I think I have a made up dagger with a fake blade, painted SA grip and real nickel fittings.

As usual, your comments greatfuly received.

All the best

Mark

An absolute cobbled up mess, with a post war blade, fake runes button, and painted SA grip.

Thanks JR, that pretty much sums it up.

Looks like I now have one mean letter opener or a spare Scabbard, cross guards and nut.

Just pleased to see I had my conclusion confirmed. So all the reading I have done is sinking in.

Cheers everyone.
