Looks like it was tipped a bit, but these were almost like 2 back to back straight edge razors. The idea was to slice, not to hack or twist. Rare bird in any shape thought, they don't turn up that often, my gut tells me $1000-3000 range.

A friend of mine bought one of these V-42's in excellent condition including scabbard and paper work & pictures from a Canadian Special Forces Officer for 5K. Seller original price was 6K. So not cheap.
