I was trying to sell my WKC Personalized Army Dagger when a collector in England called and told me there's a possibility that this dagger may have been owned by a KC winner, Hauptman Felix Ostermann. I had some friends check their rank lists and we were only able to come up with 4 Ostermanns. Now the trick will be, trying to tie this dagger to Felix. Any ideas?

Sorry to say the outlook is bleak. The rank lists generally do not cover the reserve officers, only the regulars. The number of officers on the reserve list is huge.
In addition to this the the one I have for 1944 does not list any officers below the rank of major.
Without a first name or even an initial you have virtually no chance to tie the dagger to one individual.
War is when your government tells you who the enemy is. Revolution is when you figure it out for yourself.

That's a valid point about the reserves, something that never occurred to me. I guess I'll just throw it back in the trunk for later.
