Hi,
I recently had this group of sports related badges & medals arrive. I bought them as I needed just one of the Tiroler pieces for my collection (I shall post that on an older thread). The rest of them will need to find new homes...
However I thought you would like to see some of the other pieces before they go.

I've seen these "Deutsch die Saar" design medals before, but as commemorative pieces, never as shooting medals...

--dj--Joe I assume so.... It looks like it was intended to be attached to something. It's made of thin sheet brass, & the reverse is plain.

--dj--Joe Not that I can see Joe, they all appear to be a local Schützen verein, predominantly from the Stuttgart/Tuttlingen/Murg areas. Looking through them though I'm surprised to see just how many of them are hallmarked silver... Don

--dj--Joe Yes I've thought through it a few times, so many possibilities.... Then there is the "SCHÜTZEN-ABT" part.... Abteilung? I hadn't noticed the lack of a grade on the AH piece. I did notice that it was a bright bronze/copper colour & due to my field of Tiroler badges had just "assumed" that it would be 3rd class. However there is nothing as on the piece as you say to indicate whether this is the case or not. We may never know unless we see a silver or gold version out there at some point. Don
