Gents, I got an HJ knife last week. Not my usual area of collecting, but the price was right, the condition is very good and and it matches an SS maker I have.

Looking inside you can see a cloth (??) cover on the runners. I suppose that is standard but does not last long

That's a real beauty Dave, nice one. No one has yet determined what the 'LFS' stamp stands for but it is seen on many HJ hangers. It's been well looked after, the cotton on the runners seem in good condition as well. Great transitional example.
Regards
Russ

Very nice ! Looks like the one my dad brought back from WW2. He "found" it in a drawer in a house. Most likely that is where the HJ member left it when he left home for the army !

It is pretty obvious that it was never used and maybe never even worn.

That is a great HJ knife, Dave! Gottlied Hammesfahr, 1938, with motto, double makersmark and super quality, your knife has it all! Congratulations! You just started a new fashinating collecting area! Many more to come... Best greetings, Herman

For completeness Dave you should post these pics in the thread about HJ knives with RZM codes on the obverse of the blade as Hammesfahr wasnt mentioned. great catch by the way they dont come much nicer than that usually well worn
