Hey guys, I know the conventional knowledge is that SS Honor rings were to be worn on the left ring finger, but I can't seem to track down the source document that states this -- I just hear a lot websites repeating it without sources, mentioning "SS regulations state...".

I'm curious because I see a large number of pictures where people are wearing it on the right ring finger -- most notably Heydrich.

So, has anyone actually seen this document, or know where it might be able to be found? Could we be wrong about the left ring finger being the correct one?

Wonder who would have had the nerve to tell Heydrich he was wearing it on the wrong hand!

Haha, probably just Himmler... You'd think he would have mentioned it at some point though shocked

EDIT: Another interesting thing is that, according to the sources I have seen, Germans customarily wore their wedding rings on their right hand.
Just one example: http://www.sshonorring.com/meyer.php

However, other places mention that if you wear the ring with a wedding band, the ring is to be on the outside of your finger. I have seen this in pictures, though can't find one this moment.
An example of it being mentioned (not a good source, I know): http://www.pzg.biz/jewelry_ss_honor_rings_high_end.htm

Anyway, thoughts?

So I tried to translate this with google translate, but it isn't making complete sense. Some of the words aren't getting translated. Does anyone happen to know where a translation of this document might be? I'm guessing not...
