I agree. Private manufacture.

Well made from the looks of it. The "V" cut in the front says to me it is for a bayonet. The quality suggests it is for a dress bayonet, not a K98 or similar.

jean, as short police bayonets are mostly (ever?) private purchased bayonets I am not surprised this hanger to be a privatly made/altered hanger.
