Hello All,

Well, it has been some time since I have posted on good ol´GDC.

So, I managed to pick up a Heer NCO sword recently and was hoping that someone here could help with the knot ID.
I think the pictures are ok, but the colors are grey and cream.

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

All the best,
Johnny

This is not a saber ("sword") knot but a bayonet company troddel from 1st company (due to the white/white/white color) of a regiment. As period "wearing..." pics do proof sometimes such troddels were incorrectly also worn on sabers.

Thank you Wotan, this is helpful.
I don´t know (of course) when the knot was added, perhaps period, perhaps knot… HA! sorry…
Anyway, I bought it because of the rare maker mark (Seilheimer dog logo) which is almost unseen on swords. The knot came along as a "bonus", but it seems to be correct tied and also seems to have been in place for some time.

Thank you again!
Best,
Johnny
