Gents,

Some fine photographs of the Kaiser on various hunts with his notable guests. Resplendant in his hunting attire the king is wearing his Hirschfänger as are his royal companions. The most unusual photo (to me) is Wilhelm's daughter, of the Princess Victoria Luise wearing a short model Hirschfänger, no doubt made especially for her. I've never seen this particular hunting sidearm before and wonder if any of you might be able to share any info regarding this weapon?

In the meantime, enjoy the hunt!

Thank you for the great photographs.

The high costs of these hirshfangers starts coming to light when everyone can see how they were used and shown off. Most of the great ones usually look like they were put in a drawer for years until a new generation finds them.

Thanks again for a great show with the photographs

Sincerely,
HUBERTUS

Nice pictures Bill. Some I have not seen before. I have often wondered if anyone knows where the Hirschfangers are now located that belonged to the Kaiser and other Royalty. Pieces of this quality are extremely rare and never come on the market, but we can appreciate by looking at pictures. Thanks for sharing. I also like the medal. James

Here's one I've finally had time to scan and post, I believe it's the same hirschfanger that Bill shows in his initial pictures but a little clearer.
