Hello friends, here is a recent find and addition to my collection. ACS Heer with the hard to find second type guard. Brass based hilt fittings, steel scabbard, and the first example I have seen with a slant grip! Hope you enjoy, comments invited and like to see your examples with this guard, especially if it's a slant! Kevin.

You never know John..I would think by mid to late 36' Alcoso was done using this MM on large but some left over stock could have showed up and been used? It would be a tapered tang Luft 2nd though! Kevin.

Kevin wonderful early Alcoso you have to love this Type -2 really a beautiful bird. You know what a hard guard this is to find but to get one with a slant what a bonus. Congratulations on a super addition to your collection condition and rarity a combination we all hope for. Your pictures look great as well !

Hi Kevin I have a type 2 crossguard Alcoso but mine is not maker marked but instead has the distributor Albert Kuhl Munster I/W -Essen. Wittmann has one exactly the same on his web site at the moment. All I need to finish my Alcoso Armies is a 1st pattern crossguard Army dagger. Cheers John

Kevin, congrats, it is a beautiful dagger. 2nd type ALCOSO crossguard is not easy to find, especially with slant grip! And the condition is perfect. Very nice find. Janos
