Unfortunately the lower side of the front of grip has been restored and refinished. The nickel-silver eagle looks like as was never replaced, the SS runes button looks good to me too.I have only this photos. Friends opinions are needed.

It looks quite good, even it has been restored. I own one from a "professional restorer in germany".This was a poor job and i had to pay alot of bucks. I can't find anyone in Germany, who is able to restore.

The lower parts of the grip do not seem quite as wide as they should be.

Exactly Dave. The bottom section is way too small and I doubt it will fit any type of crossguards.

Friends thanks for your feedbacks. Here are some photos for comparison. From the left is the grip with crossguards.. proportions are very similar to me.

JR - - Your thoughts? Perhaps the angle of the camera?

Look at the two pics above. Forget the lines. Look at the mid bulge and the top and and bottom. Not enough wood on the "restored" one.

There are standards parameters to me ....what do You mean? If not talk about this point ... what is your general impression of the runes and eagle .... .. this is important to me.

That lower guard barely has any step to it although.. I see some kind of stamp on it..which looks too small to be a roman numeral one...would this be a Suhl guard? can we get pics closer of that stamping and internal markings inside the guard? Thanks Larry
