Well, for those unfortunate folks that do not live in northern Canada, here what you are missing, a country with absolutely no bugs.

Pat - That is the sign of a true Canadian - being able to overlook all the blackflies and mosquitoes.

This time of year, those pesky bugs are just frozen little snacks found on the ground.
So much for global warming... record lows are being set everywhere in Canada.

You guys are not alone. It got down to 26 degrees here several nights in a row. Several records set throughout the area.
John, I watched a local resident on TV proclaim this cold weather was caused by global warming. No explanation, of course.

30 years ago, all of the 'experts' were talking about global cooling and the coming of a new ice age.
15 years ago, the same 'experts' started the global warming scare.
Since neither can be scientifically proven and the biggest influence on long term weather is sun spot activity, the more generic, but still alarming term, 'climate change' is now the buzz. Of course climate changes... all of the time. There is now a huge industry in the governments, the scientific community and in self-proclaimed climate experts to keep on alarming us to get more and more funds into their hands.
My 2 cents worth on this topic. But, I still have a load of mushy snow in my street that keeps trying to grab my car every time I drive over it.

Pat, How do you sell a car that is under the snow? This could not be good for your business.

John Every so many years, my [Inuit] neighbor cons me into visiting part of his family in North Bay - and then, once in a while, into making that ridiculously long drive - all the way to Whale Cove for visiting the other half of the clan. It always seems to be Summer when we do this - so I've had a little experience with those "frozen little snacks" you Canadians seem to fancy so much. The first time I did this, I was told not to shower on the trip. Now I know why - if you happen to be foolish enough to bath every day - those pesky little creatures will eat you alive . . . Perhaps it's not because of WMD's, Trickle Down Theory, Global Warming - or any of the other familiar deceptive truth's everyone seems to be so consumed with nowadays - and maybe the basis for this [unexplained?] wail of frigidly cold air up there this year . . . has more to do with Old Man Winter working a little Overtime . . . just trying to kill off a few extra million of those bugs that Pat appears to be unfamiliar with [ ] . . . so he can finally take a bath . . . and enjoy his Summer in a pair of cut-off jeans and short-sleeve shirt? Whatever the reason . . . I think that kind of cold would be miserable to bear all the time . . . and along with the snow, all the more dreadful - good luck to all you fella's up there - and my best wishes for better weather to come . . . and for finding that special little, "cozy-warm" place for enjoying all of your treasures.
The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have . . . .

We are having another huge storm this weekend and will be glad to take some pics. Here's home under its white camouflage, nice but a real pain in the behind when you have to shovel all that snow.

Pat you Canadian guys have to import some of the clowns shaking a jar on almost every street corner in S.Fl.and teach them how to shovel snow n go to work. When I was a kid in NY we looked for snow to make some money. Nice home
