That is a very nice, and very honest dagger. It may be a little tired or worn around the edges, but it is definitely OK. Be happy with your - acquisition - it is the real thing!

By the position of the marker mark looks like a ground rohm, i think they call the maker mark the" blind variant" as the squirrel has no eye very nice...

well done. nice dagger.you can see the grind marks where the rohm dedication was removed.

Looks like a nice original small oval Eichorn. The same make as my first. Congratulation on making the plunge. Now days the condition of your dagger is my favorite, certainly has the history with out the outrageous dollars the minty(cleaned)stuff receives.

Nice, much better than my first. It was cleaned to buggery, had a tip missing and a split grip. At that time I knew nothing!!!! some would argue the same holds true today  Good luck with collecting, get to as many fairs as you can. Even if you don't buy it is a good education. As you are in the UK Look out for me as I wander the aisles, usually found frowning at a dagger. wearing my black back pack and a big magnifying glass lol!!

Welcome to the hobby.
As you probably know already this is an NSKK ground rohm. Dedication fully erased.
Started also with ground Rohm(SA though) and they still remain my favorites. My first was by EP&S.
Many happy moments with dagger hunting.

Good first dagger.
One thing you might do is put a bit of wax on the grip. No need for it to be expensive, floor wax or paste wax will do. It will do wonders for looks without harming value at all.

Congrats Greg on your recent purchases. You are the proud owner of 2 pieces of great history. Dont ever think that your purchases are not worthy. Some daggers are in better condition than others but both, have a story to tell. You never know,, your daggers may have been standing very close to someone of great importance during that time period. All are equal in historical significance. Happy hunting!! Larry
