While I couldn't make the MAX this year, all was not lost.
I was on a trip to London, Scotland and Norway.
While in London, I managed to meet, finally, with Paul and Kevin, two GDC members (Paul and Diplo Matt) and we had a great time talking about our hobby and drinking a few ... how many, I cannot remember, beers.
I did manage to acquire some items for my collection on my trip.
Let's start with this grouping to a Technical Specialist who was posted to Norway and Finland and served with the Luftwaffe Battalion 5/XIII.
There are three documents, one for the War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords, dated Aug 18, 1942.
The second is a promotion document signed by General Ludwig Wolff, dated Sept 24, 1943 promoting Karl to an officer.
The last is pretty rare and is an award document for Luftgau Finland Plaque of Merit dated Dec 24, 1943.

I also acquired this Finnish travel badge for Pallas.
These badges/pins were used in Finland before, during and after the war and were sold a mementos of travel to the various parts of Finland.
The soldiers who fought in Finland against the Russians would buy these pins to bring back with them.
I cannot see for certain that this was war time, but it was in a contested region and is of a pattern that was used during the war.
I already had one like this, but with a different enamel pattern.
There is a picture of the two together.

I also found several Norwegian NS items.
A pin to Frontfighters dated 1940,
A set of pins for the Lotte organization, these were women`s groups existing before, during and after the war, so the exact time frame for these three pins is unknown to me,
Police medal, given to members of the Norwegian police companies who fought in Finland against the Russians, maybe 300 of these were ever issued.
An Oslo bus token with the suncross emblem.
A NS Sports Cloth Badge.

I was interested to see the i/d book of German Forces with the publishers address at "The Grampians" London W.6. As a child back in WWII I lived near that address, the building escaped the bombing and is still there to this day and still known as "The Grampians" . Just a footnote! Very interesting historical items you have located.

And, here are some more Norwegian items, the first group is for the Nasjonal Samling and the last two pics are RNAF eagles, probably Little Norway related.

Well done John, seems as if your trip improved after you escaped the mad drunk Limeys! It was a delight to meet you and your extremely tolerant wife! Hope to return the visit sometime! P
