Here is the last of the trio of Heer daggers I picked up while at the Max. This one is ounce again of initial production, brass based fittings AND scabbard. Of the three is is considered the least rare but it is a maker that has eluded me many times! I had one that was being purchased from Mr. Denny Roach and a financial snafu stopped that transaction..another recently on an auction sight that was ending at the same moment that my "smart" phone lost signal!! AARRGG! So it goes without saying that there was a certain sweet "closure" when I finally aquired this one.. wink Kevin.

Kevin,

It was good to meet you at this year's Max. I know that you, Tom, Ivan, JR and Gary all scored some fantastic edged weapons for your collections. You guys were all smiles from ear-to-ear every day ... grin grin grin grin grin

Many thanks to all of you for taking the time to share those finds here on the forums with us, it's a pleasure having a close look at all these extra-fine daggers. wink

Hopefully we'll all see each other again in Pittsburgh next year. In the meantime, wishing you much continued good luck with your collection of outstanding Heer daggers.

Best!

Bill W.

Kevin what a fine specimen of a WKC slant the condition and patina are the best. I really like the look and detail of the pommel. To find one with a brass scabbard only seals the package. Must be very early in the production to have this brass scabbard congratulations on adding this to your collection.

Bill, Was indeed a pleasure to meet you,I hope the show was a good one for you too? You had some very fine pieces on your table, very interesting to see them. Did you find some goodies for your collection? That was my first Max and I had a great time...meeting all the great names and fellow collectors like yourself was a big part of it! Hope to see you soon.

Tom, Thanks for kind words! I woulnt be suprised if your WKC slant has a brass based scabbard too, have you checked? I have to thank you for helping me find this one, I might still be looking for my illusive WKC if it wasn't for you... wink. Kevin.

Kevin,

You are a lucky man. Finding these great pieces (ask Tom about his delight at his first show), plus being able to meet great people like Tom, Bill, JR, Gary, Ivan, Paul and tout me gang (the list is way too long). I am sorry to have missed you, but expect to see you in Louisville.

John

Kevin your welcome and you certainly returned the favor by finding that killer Weyersberg you turned me onto! I will be posting it in the near future. It really was the best show I have ever had as far as acquiring pieces for my collection and as you said getting to see all the fellow collectors is 50% of the experience and meeting you my fellow heer enthusiast was a highlight for me as was seeing my friend Ivan. My only regret was not seeing John-Z in attendance. I am booked for the SOS and looking forward to it not sure I will have any money after the landslide of daggers I bought this year but coming anyway! I checked my WKC and it does have a brass scabbard! But it certainly isn’t as pretty as yours.
