Per your request here is my initial production Alcoso. Bought years ago from a family on EBay - Boy those were the days when families were able to post and sell these items on EBay. Tad salty but I love it.

Man, that baby is Sweeet Tom! Love the patina and the highly detailed ferrels of these two match perfectly with the textured background and all! Kevin.

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and mainly a army/luftwaffe badge collector but I'm also a big fan of army daggers and picked a couple up along the way. Here is my example that I believe is the same type, correct me if I'm wrong.

Regards

Rhidian

Rhidian, That is a beautiful example that looks to be totally correct. Love that dark grip and patina. Neat personalization too, If you only have a few Heer daggers, this is the way to go! Thanks for showing, any others out there with this ACS only mark?? Kevin.

I thought the ACS tm was late war after the germans arrested and deported Mr Alcoso and his son to the death camps? The germans took over the plant and used the ACS logo instead of Alcoso family name because they were jewish. Am I incorrect?

Never heard that before... certainly one of the dagger gurus here knows for sure- but what I do
Know is that the Alcoso "name" is just a combination of the first two letters in the words ALex. COppel and SOhn (or sohns).

Hi Rick.
I believe it was AWS logo.
Best,
Oleg.

Rick and Oleg,
Just to jolt my mind a little about this subject. I thought the story was after Alex Coppel and son were arrested the logo changed, around the High Lift crossguard time. Just what I remember about it, and I could very well be wrong. All stories aside, both super daggers.
Thanks

Ed,

The last TM used by Alocoso and introduced after the Coppels were booted out of the firm, was the AWS mark, standing for Alcoso Werk GmbH, Solingen to remove the name of Coppel.

That is what I believe. My High Lift Army has the AWS logo, same as the Luft logo you show.
I'm kind of new to this forum, but have learned a lot. Plus I got started on daggers from this guy
named JR. Once you been there your done.
Thanks, and always enjoy the daggers on this site. Ed
