i'm looking at getting a HEER dagger. I am looking at different makers. does the grip color ( yellow, pearl, other) make a difference in value? does maker influence value? I am looking at a pearl grip- c gustav spritzer A yellow grip WKC (w/knight) and marked SCHWEND on the crossguard finally, an unmarked maker pearl color grip condition of grips, blade, and scabbard all very comparable very GOOD, NM+ possibly without pictures, would LOVE opinions best

Nurseswim:
The least valuable, given that condition is identical, type of Heer dagger would be one without a maker mark.
Things that add value would be rarity of maker, type of grip (true ivory would add hundreds if not a thousand dollars to the value) and embellishments (engraved name, engraved blade).
Of the three that you list here, the least valuable from a collector view would be the unmarked one, the most valuable would be the WKC with engraved crossguard. This of course all assumes that the engraving is period and the components of the dagger (the pommel, the grip, the crossguard and the scabbard) all belong together for that maker.
My 2 cents worth.

I have the following Eick maker marks on Heers, the last two are Voos (an etched blade) and Alcoso (a Damascus blade).
Is there anything unique or different about the one you have, Dutchman?

Here is one you probably will not find again! If you want a rare maker or no maker I have one that may work for you. Best Wishes, Bob
