Heads up to those of you who normally stay at the Red Roof Inn on Preston Hwy.
For the last 20 years, we have been staying there, renting two rooms for five nights. Today while making my reservations, I discovered that they have joined the ranks of the greedy by raising their rates from what is normally under $90 per night. See the attached pic.
This has always been a convenient place to stay as it is only about two miles from the convention center. To me, this practice is simply "scalping" without the name.
We now have reservations across the road from RRI at the LaQuinta, whose prices remain the same.

Denny - if you want best exposure for your thoughts, start a new thread with -Name of Hotel / Location - BOYCOTT. This will get the attention of the search engines and pop up your comments on any search for that establishment.
Then add the details

This is what they did last year. There prices last year went from the high $200 but then went down when nobody bit. I ended up getting them for the normal price. I'll move over to the other hotel.

Red Roof is down to the normal prices now. I wonder if any one ever bites on the $200 plus price

Thanks for the info Terry.
Red Roof corporate tells me that prices are determined by the local owner/manager. I don't begrudge them making a profit, but naked greed is another story!
After nearly 20 years of staying at the Red Roof for 4 or 5 nites each year, we are not going back. We will be staying at the La Quinta.
