Buying a collection. There is excitement because you do not know what all is going to be involved. I can tell you one thing the seller does not care about a buyer picking and choosing. The best thing is to buy the whole collection and if you find there is something you really did not want, sell it later. I never had to do this as I always kept everything. I think I only bought 3 large solid collections in my years as a collector.
Group one is a collection from Europe.

Last photo. 6
The last photo is of my patron saint. Saint Hubertus 600AD. He has guided me through many storms and was the start of the hunting type blades and daggers.
I am closing this series of 45 years of collecting and hope you have enjoyed seeing what is out there.
Sincerely,
HUBERTUS

Dear Ralph,
I'd like to express my special thanks for giving us a look at your superb collection of German Hirschfänger and related hunting adornments. As this area of edged weapons has always been a favorite of mine, it gives me particular pleasure to see this great diversity of elegant and ornate sidearms.
When I began exploring this area of our hobby there was very little to see other than a few basic patterns. Before the computer age, it took years of painstaking correspondance and research to see what others had in their collections. Here you've given us a brilliant visual reference to study and enjoy, more than one could hope to see in a lifetime. I can say in all honesty that your vast selection easily surpasses the collections of museums that specialize in this area, they're mostly pale by comparison.
Thanks for the countless hours spent photographing and posting the fruits of your efforts, no doubt a labor of love. Thanks for generating interest and appeal to this fantastic aspect of collecting edged-weaponry. Many of us sincerely appreciate your selfless generousity.
Kind regards,
Bill Warda

To my dear old friend Bill Warda, I want to say thank you for the personal in put of words for my collecting endeavors over the years. I know that any one that has encountered you with a question that your attention has always been prompt and exacting. Especially anything written or said in the German language. You have truly been a great friend to everyone.
You have been a lucky and bright spot to all of the collectors who I have seen your responses to over the years.
I would also like to say I appreciate all the others that have replied to the Forum hunting and forestry layouts.
Sincerely,
HUBERTUS

I would also like to add the following photos to the phase 9 group of two additonal swass blades. These were large KB photos and had to be reduced.
4 photos 1 group.
