After a hot time at the SOS I wanted to ask collectors
what makes you want a dagger!

I myself like certain color handles, minty, all eye candy for me!

I know others love them by makers,or early types, slant grips
or maybe that glass or so called frozen juice!

At this SOS I saw a few beautiful glass handel armys!

Deep color grips that were almost red!!!!

I also saw the special hand enhanced crossguards of some!

Minty is always a treat!

Armys that are special! Makes you wish its christmas!

Navies with that gild just right and frozen knots!

Lufts that sparkle and gross grain popping!

Please show yours and tell us what you like!

Here is some to start off on why daggers make us collectors nuts!

Fine craftsmanship of damascus, etched blued and gold highlighted blades. Custom hand enhanced hilts and scabbards. Ivory grips. Most importantly , personalizations and history.

Ivory for me, if it's Ivory I want it, it still has to have the condition though.

Well a slant grip and early fittings of course! Will go for the rare maker mark as well if the price is right.

What a real treat! Some of the nicest blades shown here.

I like the look of old antique items period. Rarity is always a plus. Condition isn't so much a problem depending on the type of item, but price is always a factor. Ivory always a plus no matter the condition, with in reason of course and as long as it's legal. I find what I find and enjoy it for what it is. Thanks.

To all concerned, the Holler I posted in this thread turned out not to be owned by me,so I deleted the pix of it from my post. But in doing so I hit the wrong edit button and also removed a pix from PVON's second post! I hope he can and will repost the pix I accidently removed.

Now I'll go and quietly sit in a corner wearing a dunce cap!

Rich, No problems, I know that Holler found a good home!

The Ivory is stunning on this post, hope to come across one out of the woodwork some day.

I will post a few of my favorites here..like the early hand worked and heavy pieces, condition is great too but a minty blade mated with heavy patina really does it for me!! Kevin.

Some Moderators claim this site doesn't allow big enough pics!

Well resize them! Seems ok to me! They have some heavy duty stuff!

Send me the pics I will resize them if need be!
