Need to know more about this dagger. I've researched some :
Carl Eickhorn Roman numeral III on cross guard (Berlin) Number 5 on top of cross guard SS# 7961
What's the difference in honor dagger and grounded SS ROHM? Ballpark value on dagger? Scabbard not pictured. What are the names of SS# researchers?
Thanks mike

Sorry to report that SS Mann No. 7961 is unknown at this time. During the 1930s, the SS and SA daggers with the Röhm inscription were documented as an Ehrendolch or Honor Dagger. On 4 July 1934, all recipients of the Ehrendolch were ordered to locally remove the offending Röhm inscription after the "Röhm Revolt" which accounts for the wide variances of grindings. And not everyone got or heeded the memo which accounts for those "Full" or unground Röhm's that survived. Ross Kelbaugh www.ssdaggers.comwww.ss-numbers.com
