there are hjs without any makers mark. i sold one to whittman a long time ago. i think they are rare. paul

I am back from holidays.
Oleg sure is right that the "seam" on the guards is a bad sign. Some original, very late produced HJ's show this sign of low quality finishing. But I have neer seen it on an original, mottoed HJ knife.
