PVON,

Thanks for thinking about me and posting the SOS pics for all of us that couldn't make it. Some great looking headgear and other goodies there, I hope you found some things for your collection, did you? ... if so, can you tell us about what you found?

Being laid off for the past fifty-three weeks put a serious crimp in my spending cash this past year. Just got back to work a couple of weeks ago and so I'm hoping to go this coming year in 2014. I don't think it'd be much fun without some pocket money for at least one or two neat imperial items. Do you remember what that embroidered strap is in the picture with the Hindenburg plaque? It looks pretty nifty from where I'm sitting ... wink

Really appreciate the photos, thanks again for hooking me up!

Best!

Bill

Hi Bill

I know what you mean!

The guy who owns the green sash is David Hanson and he also had a gold dagger in box that was stunning and doesn't know who owned it but was big time something!

We talked a bit and its something special that needs more info but is so far out there !

My camera died and even though next to me I didn't get pics!

Will post more!

I had my fun taking pics and meeting and seeing folks!

My friend Ray bought 10 more medal bars and such!

Have to take pics to show!

Nice pix.

Bill
FYI, the "sash" was a flag holder. Very impressive.

Paul,

Many of the steins, the colorful canteens and that long pipe are reservist's "remembrance" items, decorative things that would be purchased to commemorate military service time. There are many who collect and specialize in these items, they cover a wide variety of service branches and units and most are personalized. They're somewhat similar in nature to the 1933-'45 single and double-etched edged weapons that commemorate and denote time spent in the military - "Erinnerung an Meine Dienstzeit." Most of these reservist items are reasonably priced, though, certain more prominent divisions and units command substantial prices. If in good condition naval and aviation items always seem to fetch considerably higher prices.

Roger, yes, you're right on the money, an embroidered color-bearer's carrying belt, Fahnen-Trageriemen. Thanks!

Bill
