I believe on originals the top eagle part will unscrew. Reddick enterprises makes a pretty good looking reproduction, you may want to compare markings.

There should be two counter sunk holes on the base.

I know, late reply. These second style pole tops are one piece. They do not unscrew. The pic is not clear enough to judge. The Reddick pieces are OK, but not that good.
