For those of you who are lucky enough not to be on my mailing list smile I wanted to announce that my auction is currently running, and ends Saturday. LOTS of great daggers for sale, many at very low prices. I know bidding gets fierce at the end of the auction, but here's a chance to score something at a wholesale price - that's guaranteed authentic for life. Enjoy!

That's one nice damascus blade. Not that it matters, but are those cold shuts we see? Can't really tell from the pictures. Thanks.

Karlo, If you got that RAD hewer you will not be disappointed. It was mine. I bought it from Bill Shea 10 years ago and he had it in his private collection for 20 years before that. That was before prices skyrocketed. You got a real bargain even in todays depressed market. I really hated to sell it. The great thing is the "Karl Hartkoppe" engraving with the filigrees (sp), it is the most beautiful engraving I have ever seen on a dagger blade--period. The pictures did not do the engraving anywhere near justice. I wanted to keep it but other places to go with the money. You will like it. Charlie

Yup, I'm the winner, went a bit over my comfort zone for a dagger/hewer/sword as I've made a deal with myself not to purchase edged militaria this year when I overpaid for an RZM SA dagger... BUT this one was a must have, especially since my baptism name is "Karl" (full name is Karlo) and one of my nicknames while I was living in Germany as a kid was something similar to hartkopf (not dummkopf) because I was stubborn as hell.

I can see having a hell of a time explaining my customs officer what the heck am I doing lately... I also won the Damascus Shotgun that for sure is gonna make quite a stir at my customs office guaranteed - hopefully it won't arrive the same day my Ruger gets back from service... I'll be contacting Vera tomorrow to arrange alternative payment as my PayPal has been put on hold last week after selling a Leica M7 and a 35mm Summicron (something about an unusually big transaction)...

I got swift responses the whole period the auctions were on, mind you the servers did seem to be offline or severely buggered around 3 days from the end and for the last hour or so, I couldn't even ping the address on several occasions ...
Could you explain for a non-native speaker what a cold shut is in regards to that dagger ? ( maybe circle the defect? in the images) Thanks !

I'm not concerned or curious anymore. Auction is over. Thanks.
