Hi guys,,,quick report:
Most of our homes do have Elect. running to them now,,,but we still don't have elect.! Seems my entire Incorp. Village has lost their Certif. of Occupancy! Which means every home is subject to all kinds of inspectors. Things are at a crawl as far as rebuliding. ALL repairmen must be Lic. and insured [a good thing I guess]. After the trades sign off on their work then the Underwriters come in and give their ble$$ing and THEN you can close up your walls. My home is getting rewired as of tomorrow,,it will take a few days.. IF, if everything goes good and I pass inspection I should have power on by Monday....
I have Nat.Gas hooked up so with my generator I've been running my boiler and burner and circulating hot water thru my rads during the day to help dry out the house..I lost the entire kitchen and both bathrooms,,just so much work to do..Right after the Elect. is on I can then insulate and get the sheetrock up...Door frames, subfloors,some windows, flooring, then start on the kitchen, bathrooms,,like I said a lot of work,,we're all tired and going on 7 day weeks.

I am at a small aprtment that FEMA is helping us with to live. I'm about 20 miles from home so working at my house during the day , eat with the FEMA or Nat.Guard guys during the day then home by 6 ,eat and pass out,,same the next day and so on..
Man I sure do miss seeing all the cool stuff you guys find. Hopefully I'll get a PC set up and be able to check in soon..

Short update from G - i hope its ok for him to post this part of his last email from these days:
"GDC -
I have received a few emails. I will try to explain. This is for any insured property in the USA.. IF you have a flood or fire insurance policy on your prop.
IF you receive repetitive damage [twice within 2 years] and your last claim on your structure was 51% of what your structure is worth the Feds/Locals can make you to move your house, raise your house, or knock down and rebuild your house. .
My house can not be moved nor raised. I must knock it down,,install helicall piles, then a foundation with my front door about 10 ft hi! My other choice is to sell. We are not eligible for a buyout from state,, no one is going to buy the property.
16 years here in paradise. Raised a few kids, paid my taxes, a regular guy. Now we have a beautiful home,,the best of everything,,and it will all be gone one way or another within a year or 2 at the most..
..PC and Internet service soon!...
