Gentlemen,

this is my latest find. A genuine and nicely patinated chained SS. It`s the variation with the iron chain.

Everything here is untouched, all screws have not been turned since WW2, no repairs, neither to the dagger fittings nor to the chain, but of course, from outside well worn.
A small chip on the reverse of the wooden grip, some rust to the originally anodized scabbard, some scratches here and there and the Portepee shows abraison where it rubbed against the crossguard. That is not a minty looking like brand new dagger some collectors love to see.

But look at that blade. This blade is awesome! Beautiful deep etched motto, the frosting still perfect. Virtually all original cross-grain finish remaining to the blade and a needle like tip, untouched.
This is how I love it. An honest piece showing honest wear and a killer blade inside.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Regards;
Flyingdutchman

Nice matching finish over all parts of this B2 (german chain nomenclature) chained SS dagger.
Hard to find an untouched SS dagger decades after WWII.

Gentlemen,

thank you so much for your kind comments on this dagger.
It is true, even as an advanced collector of etched weapons, mostly Naval daggers, It took me more than three years to find a genuine and untouched chained dagger like this, especially for a reasonable price. So one should not give up too early, there is still nice stuff out there looking for a new home and the good care of collectors as we are.
Thanks again.
Regards;
Hermann

Perhaps one of the most, if not the most desirable edged weapon in any collection, beautiful specimen, well done.
