What is that spine on the scabbard? Don't believe I've seen one like it before.Pix is about half way down page,shows a SS dagger with a odd scabbard.

Weird... not only the spine but the top fitting shows two screws on the left side. It almost looks like a leather bayonet scabbard.

I don't think you are looking at the right photo. Here it is... that's no reflection. Also look at the upper scabbard fitting.

That's probably a rare leather scabbard variant without the steel sleeve body, like seen on early DLV's. Great pix.

That is the reflection of light on the sheath at the time of shooting.

Disagree... if you study the shadows you will see that the spine is raised... most likely leather construction. That's not all... look at the screws on the upper fitting.
