Luis, it can be nicely repaired. However, finding a runes button can be difficult. Original handles with insignia are extremely hard to find and are usually costly.

Is the rest of the dagger decent? What maker?

You can get that grip repaired a lot easier and cheaper than buying and fitting a genuine replacement.

WHo is the maker? Each maker has specific shape etc. A real runes button is hard to find, may cost $300-500, whole nice early grip about $1000, in my experience.

If you want a genuine SS button, it will cost you a lot (see above) plus $150 or more to have the repair made. And, the repair will be visible to a knowledgeable person. A intact grip from another dagger will be very hard to find as grips break more than blades ... plus it would have to be fitted.

A reproduction rune button is $25 - $50. Using one of those + repairs = $200 or a bit more.

Your dagger is not in top collectible shape. The blade has been sharpened an has traces of rust so beware of putting too much into it.

Hope this helps,
Dave

Seems a bit steep. Try Don Swanson, 573-474-8003. He's in Columbia, MO. I don't know if he still does restoration work or not, but it's worth a try
