this did bother me years ago putting stuff on here( as with ebay I dont ever take the right photos) but dont care anymore.here are 3 you dont see often. some history ta boot. when bending Johnsons ear on the PDL tag i only told him him of it didnt send copy photos as i was elated finding it. he said he had only seen PDL tags on bayos i emailed him a photo in seconds.so if you ever see a pdl on a dagger consider it to be added no real proof but Tom is more right than wrong. enjoy guys!! Hey Bill how have you been I always remember your kindness when i was a new member in 99 and y2k and buying the army from you as i was on the road then. you sent it with no money and hope that some strange dude would pay you..... I hate to see my babies go but got into vettes and bicycles and my daughter is much more fun than these are anymore. they dont even see the light of day so its been fun. the tags were mike hansons doing he hooked me then he quit collecting so i picked up where he left off. but nobody cared about them mostly I would pester Johnson about stories of his german haunts and finds. my hope was a book on the subject but craig got into other stuff and i beat my head on it for so long i just gave up.

funny i get several mails now about whats what.what i can do is what i offered a few folks who ask questions. I can find my jump drive and throw up the images ihad but remember at some point they will go the way of the dodo here also. as threads are auto deleted or what ever happens?? much of what i found i would reference carters work vol 1 with no vol 2 expected and his work lost i plodded along and began to id post war and even a few pre war time tags not to mention export tags, ie export from germany. remember guys the collectors with the factory records are the ones with the gold mines. but this hobby has but scratched the surface on much of what is collected we collect the objects. the history is deep like the alcoso stuff i put in the sale section the wrap is ultra rare johnson had never seen it with the acs logo. to me it was another puzzle bit the tags were ordered and made by printing firms then sent to the makers. thats the think anyway

Bret,

It feels great being able to help someone and then to have that favor returned with you sharing your knowledge and expertise with the rest of us. I think it makes for a much better hobby all the way round. For whatever it's worth, if I'd known you were working on a book about manufacturer's tags I would have been more than happy to lend a hand with translations, layouts, writing and printing, etc, gratis.

Wishing you all the best!

B~

Mike, no I only ever bought 2 from mike they were common. I was working on buying a US collection when Mike Hanson was selling out. He sold several here then craig bought the collection. Like a dummy i never started working on this stuff till mike sold out and i realized what what I had missed. A guy came by the house yesterday and bought a tagged bayo from me he is a coin collector I meet last year when I sold off my coins. he is far from a collector but understood the rarity factor right off. he also bought some badges and medals. bang another collector is born.

Hello Bret,

Can you give me you opinion of this E. Pack hang tag? I'm curious about scarcity and of course, value. Thanks in advance...
