Wow, I rarely get to be the first one to find anything straight from the vet's family, so this was an exciting find for me. I really love the been there, unmessed with look of this dagger.
Ross has found all the numbers for SS men 129 850 thru 129 859, but not this one yet. I think there's hope it will turn up. Enjoy the pics, John

Thanks Guys. I'm hoping Ross will have some luck with his research on the number. I'm working on a letter from the family:
"they belonged to his father, Al, who was in the medical corps, attached to the fourth auxiliary surgical group, and was awarded the bronze star medal for heroism. From what I've heard, Al was quite an exemplary man, highly regarded, had the mind of a medical dictionary, and always went above and beyond the call of duty, but sadly passed away some years back"
