Hi Guys,

I`ve tried to find an answer here with the search engine, but to no avail? I`m wanting to know whether Herder made early Army daggers or not? In Wittmanns book, it is noted there that they never produced early army daggers, however, they do have an early makers mark if I`m not mistaken? Can anyone tell me whether the satement in Wittmann`s book is true or false?
Thanks in advance for any answeres wink

Cheers,
Dion

I personally have never seen a Herder with attributes of the earliest production army daggers and they are pretty much all I have concentrated my collection on.

I agree with V I can not remember ever seeing one. But I have seen and owned for a short time an early aluminum hilted Herder army (Pack Fittings) that was internally numbered.

In the years I've been collecting I never saw an early Herder either. You are right about the different makermarks that Herder used in different periods. I've seen them on heer daggers as well as on luftwaffe daggers.
