It looks like the real deal from here.The handle looks like it does not fit as well as most early dagger and the edges look slightly rounded.Like you said the blade looks worked.

Gentleman I took it apart and all looks ok, guards are marked with the A & P inside upper and lowers and they are nickle/silver, blade tang has a makers forging mark although it has been cleaned/polished and the handle looks to be Ebony all the way thru. I agree the shape looks a little funny but all the parts check out. I sent some pictures of to Whittmann to see what his take may be, will advise when he reply's. thanks again Mike
