Just had to show this ww1 group! Its like a time capsule of a period that is not coming out from family like it once was in the 1960's!
My friend had got this group and as ww1 fades with time I believe you will not see this amount of a soldiers things in its un touched condition!

The right conditions prevailed in storing this beautiful grouping. Maybe possibly in a cedar trunk, IMO. very nice Larry

Denny,
Your cap is from WWI or just after by the shape and the use of blackened insignia. The buttons appear to be state militia but I can't make them out. The cap shape and bright insignia changed in 1926 so it would pre-date that. Some WWI veteran officers continued to wear this style cap but they changed out the darkened buttons and eagle.
