Hello Gentlemen ! I am posting some pics of an Diplomatic Bayonet by Alcoso. Black leather scabbard with nickel silver fittings. Offwhite celluoid grips and nickel pommel, backstrap and crossguard. Polished blade with the Alcoso trademark. Same specs as found in Johnsons reference book. The quality on this piece is stunning, far better than the pics, so it makes me wonder if this is another one existing ? So gentlemen what do you think of this specimen ???? Please give me your thoughts. Thanks, Hakan

Can't comment on authenticity as these are very rare and tough to authenticate. They appear on eBay from time to time, so they are out there, whether they're period is another matter.
Here's a few that have appeared over the years...

We've seen a couple of these pieces over the years, several current & former members of GD have had one. Tough to say that these pieces are period or now but the examples we've seen have all been Alcoso marked & of pretty high quality parts. Yours seems to differ in 2 areas, with respect to the frog lug on the scabbard's top fitting & the grip plate material which looks quite bright.

IMO--all of the above are fake. Quite crude IMO and the wrong type scabbard in most cases.
