Wanted to let everyone know that my auction is again running, and is about 1/2 way through completion. It closes July 28 at 10:00am Pacific Standard Time. There are over 300 guaranteed-original lots, with ZERO buyer's premium, no reserve, and best of all, a fully-transferrable lifetime guarantee of authenticity on all lots. So bid with confidence, knowing that you're not paying an artificially elevated dealer price, but paying an actual market price. I will post here, some of the "goodies" in the dagger department, shortly.

The HJ Gefolgschaftsfahne is interesting to me, as it belonged to Garry the owner of the HJ Forum at one time, he sold it to a guy I know in Ireland, and now it's up at the auction in California. Funny the way stuff travels around!

I do like this auction of Craig`s and have bought a couple of items. What I have noticed though is that some things actually go equal to or beyond what you might expect to see a dealer list for.
A common situation when auction fever sets in with more than one person interested in an item. I am one who can get a bit carried away and I think the mentality is that you ask yourself each time if you really want to miss a particular item for just another $10 and then keep stepping up. I am watching several pieces but they are already sitting at around what I would have been prepared to pay so caution is my watch word at the moment. It does seem to have proven really good for sellers and I might have consigned some things myself were it not for the hassle of shipping.

The great thing about my auction, is that consignors who give me a large assortment of things, do VERY well "across the board." They may lose on one or two items, but that loss is counterbalanced by doing REALLY well on another few. And buyers get a REAL chance to get something at a bargain.

From what I can tell this auction was really very successful with a great deal of interest. I also think it is very encouraging for collectors to see that the hobby is not entirely in the doldrum`s and that many people do still have a strong interest where they set the price.

Yep.. I see lot of items going for very reasonable prices, several real steals.

Of course, what I wanted had another rabid bidder, so I paid a little too much for it, but that is the way things fall sometime.

I made my first purchase from Craig’s auction and am considering some consignments in the future I like the format. So Craig can the cosigner set a starting price?

I expect that starting price is negotiable within reason. But it has to be low enough to tempt people to bid. If he were to start out near retail, it would fizzle IMO.

The HJ Gefolgschaftsfahne was a bargain at 445 USD even with the damage. I should have bid, but don't collect flags anymore.

Thanks, Russian! And, our 7th auction is now live. We've got over 400 awesome artifacts, lots of great deals left, and yes ... even at the end of the auction, there are always some STEALS to be had.
