Nice stuff!
Here is a display of some Japanese Police items that I had at a recent militaria show. Various police swords and daggers along with a couple of uniforms.

Some great displays in this thread! I don't have much Japanese stuff myself, but I've been meaning to share this one piece I picked up at a local antiques mall a few months ago. It's a heavy hanging brass plaque, about the size of a salad plate, cast in the form of two three-toed dragons over a stylized chrysanthemum motif. According to some cursory research I've done, the three-toed dragon is the natural form of the Japanese dragon, and the chrysanthemum is a common motif in Japanese heraldry. Old, faded silk tassels are also attached to the back. What makes this plaque 'militaria' is the fact that at some point someone etched the United States seal and star in the center. Whether this is a piece that predates WWII and was a vet pick-up/trench art, or if it was done after the war and marketed to occupying forces, is beyond my knowledge. Anyone have thoughts on this? Still one of my favorite pieces, and a bargain at about $35. T.

I BOUGHT THIS NAMBU OFF MY AD A FEW DAYS AGO. NICE GUN ALL MATCHING, INCLUDING THE CLIP. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE GRIPS ARE NOT RIGHT-NO GROVES. AFTER A LITTLE SEARCHING ON THE COMPUTER I REALIZED THEY ARE RIGHT-LATE WAR, NUMBERED GRIPS, THEY MATCH THE PISTOL. NICE FIND RARE GUN. THE TANTO OR ******** DAGGER I PICKED UP ABOUT A YEAR AGO. BLADE IS SIGNED ABOUT 300 YEARS OLD MOUNTED IS CHINA- JAPANESE WAR FITTINGS. I AM IN LOVE WITH IT-FLAWLESS. HERE ARE SOME PICKS. THANKS PAUL
