The problem I have an 640gb external hard disk drive(hdd) and I was trying to back up a 10gb file from my internal hdd. But it keeps bringing up the error that there isn't enough hard disk space and I may need to delete some files to free up space on the external hdd. Well I have 200gb remaining on my internal hdd and well over 580gb remaining on my external hdd. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? I am lost! Thanks for any help.

Try just copying and pasting the file to the external drive see if that works

Thanks for responding. And I figured out last night that it had something to do with the filing system. I formatted it and it works great now. Why they would have used some obsolete filing system on a 640gb drive still makes me wonder?? Thanks again.
