I sold a sword on the old e-crap the other day. A very nice uncleaned imperial...The buyer gave positive feedback but left this note (Nice Item Required Much Cleaning) eek mad cry I guess I did not polish it enough crazy crazy crazy crazy

If uncleaned, I would leave any item as such. The new owner has the option of leaving it as is or cleaning it. Once cleaned, it can't be undone, other than through age or artificial means.

To each his own I suppose but you were selling the item as is. Why would a buyer comment on how much cleaning he had to do? If it looked like too much at the outset, why even bid? Guess you just can't please everyone.

Being uncleaned (untouched)seeing were the fire-gilt was still here and there that was the great thing about the common sword.But, like some collectors clean clean clean to the point you hurt the value.. cry some of these guys love brasso sick

You should play along and ask the guy for some photos of his new, buffed-up sword..? Maybe we could see what he meant by "a tough cleaning job? If he's un-cooperaitve, you could suggest chrome-plating the entire thing! grin wink

He'd probably like nothing more than to clean your entire collection for you, for free ... heh
