This is one of my favorites, a 1st Division grouping from a solider that won the bronze star for his actions as part of the initial first wave D-Day landings at Normandy. He was cited for bringing more ammunition up to the forward positions under intense enemy fire.

No WW2 1st Division collection is worth the weight in salt(LOL) unless it includes one of these. I have 4 different in my collection , this is my favorite.

I have none in my collection! (and I collect US helmets!) but the 1st has always eluded me. I have a few others that were there that day, but not a "big red one!"

Very nice Jerry! Mark Just don't run into that sweet helmets anymore!
Fading into time when many of these items or pieces of history could be gotten!
You both have cheated the window of time thats closing so fast now!
Thanks for sharing!
