Rich, Great looking Luft with a crowd pleasing maker! Interesting mix of fittings though, WKC pommel, Alcoso guard(fittings usually seen with this Henckels maker mark)and SMF scabbard. What do you think about this combo? Kevin.

Kevin, I did notice the scabbard was a SMF but I'm not that well versed in the pommels and crossguards so I applaud you on your keen eye and observation. Is it to my understanding from what you said, that these Henckels came with these mismatched parts?
Thanks Rich

Rich, I meant to say that this style Henckels MM is usually seen with Alcoso fittings top to bottom. Not sure when the other maker fittings came to this dagger, period or after but it is an unusual mix. Quite common to see scabbards traded out due to dents in the original but the pommel, I don't know! Kevin.

this dagger is really something. Don't see too many Luft daggers by Henckels.

Great looking piece. I think Henckels, Pack and Klaas made the best and most interesting 2nd lufts, particularly the earlier varieties
