Hi guys, I was going through a box of old German k98k rifle parts recently. Among the bits was a bag containing 4 pairs of wooden grips for K98 bayonets. They appear to have never been mated to a hilt and one set was never drilled to accept bolts or rivets. No markings at all on any of them. Here are some pics.

Always handy to have them laying around if you need a replacer! Nice.

Will try to take a pic of my replacement grips in the next two weeks.

About 20 years ago, at least one importer was selling like new S84/98 T3 wood grips. I bought s few pairs but ultimately had reservations about them being of WW2 German manufacture. All were devoid of any markings, etc. They seemed to fit on some bayonets but were a problem on others (fact being all grips require a degree of hand-fitting, that was not a surprise). The grips also seemed to be kind of slabby and not cut deep enough to easily accommodate the ridge on the sides of the flashguard. Could well have been post-WW2 mfg for replacement...possibly Spanish? May have seen a pair or two like you show never cut for screwbolts, too.
