Nice little JP Sauer here with a C/M acceptance mark. The numbers match inside and out on the Sauer. And the holster is correct for a Sauer but I would prefer a BAK or BAW depot mark. But I guess you can’t have everything. This Imperial era Sauer is the only known Naval marked pistol reported so far.

Hello Dow, these are neat little pieces. Is yours a .32 or .25? I have a .25 with the crown over N proof. It shoots flawlessly. Have you fired it? I also have the later "Behorden" style in .32[I read somewhere that these were official police issue] that my Pop won in a card game on the ship returning from WW2 in Dec. '45! Shoots well, also. Regards, Leipzig

Mine is a .32 I think a MD1913 JP Sauer in .25 caliber would be harder to find. If possible can you post some pictures?

I have not fired the Sauer yet but expect it to be a good shooter. The pistol is well made. Here is a reply from Jim regarding your 25acp, he has authored several books on JP Sauers.
Thank you, Dow! That's a very nice little Mod.19 having the Zusatzsicherung (extra safety) which is pressed downward into the triggerbar (with the frame) when you push the safety lever down. This feature tells me it was never meant to be exported, but used within Germany.....and very possibly by a government organization including detectives attached to different large city police departments. Postal authorities, Border (Zoll) authorities, and other authorities used these very effective small Sauers. Durng 1936 Himmler forbid the 6,35mm to be carried by any and all men attached to police departments. Just a little bit of history for your benefit.....Best regards, JIM

Very nice, well marked navy rig. Thank for sharing.

Understandable why the German police were ordered to not to carry such a small caliber duty pistol. It is not the type of caliber that was normally issued by police agencies in the US, even though there were private purchase allowwed of these small guns.
