Does anyone here have any information on the above named company? Apparently they were in business in NYC in the late 1950's to the mid 1960's at least.
I have two of their catalogs coming that I bought online. Their prices for TR stuff is amazingly low such as $29.95 for a Luftwaffe sword, etc. What is known about this company?
Thank you.

Wow! That's a blast from the past. I well remember their large ads in Shotgun News, but never dealt with them. Post some pics, please.

Anyone remember Norm Flayderman or Robert Abel? I have several of their catalogues along with some Mohawk catalogues from the early 60's.

I remember ZM Military Research too. They used the RZM logo as theirs.

And, I remember both the Flayderman and Abel catalogs along with Mowhawk. Mohawk was Ray Zyla was it not?

Good memories. I also remember dealing with Tom Johnson when he was still at Ft. Leavenworth. Of course I also dealt with Jim Atwood and I still have some of his letters of authenticity for his daggers. Of course they are dated in the 1960s and still have a masthead address of Adolf Hitler Platz. The COA was a forgery just like the "parts daggers" were. We live and learn.

I have a Robert Abels Catalogue from 1960. Picked it up in Poland from an antique dealer. Even though the item images are hand drawn, I still find it a good reference book.

Prices. German Army $20, SA $18, 1st luft $22, Rad subordinate $20, Navy dagger with IVORY grip $25.

Got one of the catalogs today, after 1963 as there is a zip code. Now a few prices:

German Cross in Silver: $19.95, in Gold: $24.95.
Cased Iron Cross 1st class: $4.98
U-Boat badge: $3.50
Pilot badge: $4.98
Prussian Garde du Corps helmet: $175.00
Police Officers sword: $34.95
SA dagger: $22.95
SS dagger: $49.95
RAD EM: $34.95

WOW...wish I had known about ZM back then!

Here's a Robert Abels Catalog. I'm pretty sure this one is from 1956-57. Notice the prices are identical to what Jim listed above. Nearly 200 pages of antique firearms, edged weapons & militaria that is seldom seen today.

George, Ray Zyla was and still is, Mohawk Arms. He is always set up at the SOS. In recent years, their focus has turned more to on-line auctions.

COLTS ANYONE?

Hi Denny, my catalogue is #29 also. I could not find a date other than a handwritten 5/25/60.

The order from does have a place for 195_. Which would indicate you are correct.

Jim, mine has the same order form as yours. I could be wrong about the date, but am pretty sure I didn't receive it any later than '58. I turned 16 that year and got my driver's license and a girl friend. Sorta lost interest in this military stuff for a few years until 1962 when I either came to, or lost my senses. Depends on your point of view, I guess...

Denny, you and I are the same age! After going through the ZM catalog last night, it is at least 1965 as there is an ad for a "1964 Gun Digest" edited in 1965. Heck, I was collecting back then. Fact is, I got my first TR armband in 1955 or '56.

I enjoyed reading this topic so I thought I might try and resurrect it. I have few Joseph A Walters catalogs. I am unsure of the dates BUT in the catalogs it mentions a TR Army Officers-engraved blade- dagger with Ivory grips with opening bid of $70.00. Navy dagger with oakleaf trim, double engraved blade with fouled anchor, 1938 style pommel cap with high gilt fittings. Opening bid-$77.00. GREAT books for IDing items and great fun to try and figure which ones were the "copies"! Enjoy, Mark

Does anyone remember Ted Lenkel? I bought my first item thru the mail from him: Army belt and buckle. This was in the 1950s.
