Hello,
I know 99% of these engraved are fake on original bayonet but I've never see this pattern. Is it a know fake? It was with original other item.

Make that 100 % fake with every one that I have ever seen. I think that this may be a new generation East Bloc creation. FP

That reason being people don't do their home work on the items they decide to collect,a very bad move!

Hi seany , I agree to a certain extent with that ,but they still go when it's explained to them that its a post war etch ! maybe an atwood ss dagger kind of mentality??, i'm just going to have a look on bayokings site here in the uk he had one not long ago , and if memory serves me correct he is responsible for a vast majority of them ! Kindest Will

WW2 GERMAN NAVY PRESENTATION BAYONET - GRAF SPEE
A WW2 German Navy presentation bayonet - engraved blade - for the battleship 'Graf Spee' - on one side. The other side of the blade is marked 'Deutsches Kriegsmarine 1939'. The blade is also marked -S/24400 one one side - and - 9669g on the other. The scabbard is marked - 44 ddl. The pommel is waffenamt ....... This is now reserved , this particular case shows exactly what seany's point is ! i remember the price being very high , my condolences to the buyer !

one born every minute. trouble is they have been around for a long time now and have had the chance to age so people think they are ok.

Gents, The first time I encountered these was oh, maybe twenty years ago... a good old boy up the road advertised two of these (tarted-up) pieces in the Daily Blurb as things his father brought back from the war. Both SS units, "came from the same invasion beach.. yup, they beat the piss out of those SS guys!" They kind of just give you a glimmer of hope for a fleeting second, flash, bang, gone! ha! Hey who knows, fun to show around, a big letter-opener or superb as shish-ke-bob skewers? Maybe a "gag-joke," for a friend's birthday..? Rather buy just one or two nice rare tinnies than one of these, nicht war? Just my take on things like this. There are too many good original things out there, at bargain prices, and guys are wasting money on this? Suum Cuique, indeed. W~

This one looks "artificially aged." Most are in pretty nice condition.

Hi there was an auction lockdales in ipswich 19th may with 2 lots of this type of bayonet one with parachute markings sold for 280 and the other lot which had 2in both were tarted up as a naval/uboat crew members and sold with some cock and bull story about the owner went for 1250 .( item 707 ) I viewed some items at the auction and told them that they were fake(which they already new) but I guess they like there fees and there no return policy on nazi items , but some poor mug has paid 1250 plus commission for a load of fakery
