Got this sword. Hilt is Aluminum Helbig and proofed with scuffed a bit leather but perfect blade. Scabbard is unknown with Silver fittings and great leather.

Dagger is Alcoso with silver fittings all around with some drag marks on the blade. Grip is scuffed a bit but scabbard has great leather just comming off just a little on the joinning. But hanger is Aluminum. Also it is missing the little ferrel on the bottom of the grip. Anybody know where I can get one? It is not proofed. Scabbard not marked. Hanger catch is marked OLC in a diamond. What is the Gaefler(?) and star in the middle of the logo supposed to represent?

Humm? What to do? Go for matching up the sword and scabbard with another mismatched set or part them out? Part out the dagger or get another silver hanger and ferrel? Mixed feelings.

What do you guys think? Doug

Doug, If you have other examples of these weapons that are keepers, you may want to sell these off to others looking for the parts. If not ,hold on to them and look for the right parts.. could be fun to watch them come together. Just do your home work and get the right stuff, which could be a challenge! The blades and scabbards of the swords were made in different lengths for different height's. The result could be a nice representative piece with the understanding that it is a parts piece. Kevin.

I'm not really a dagger guy and don't have a pile of them. I like to have a couple on my gun show table just for bait to get some others. That's about it for me. I like to trade for my core interests in German, Japanese and Italian rifles. Sometimes I can do better with a trade than I can buying things outright. Doug
